Rex at Christiansons
After church every Sunday we went for a visit to Harry and Mrs Christiansons place located across the road north of Medicine Tree Manor. Mr and Mrs Christianson treated us as well as their many other grandchildren.
My first horse Rex
High River horse dealer Harry Christianson hired me to break Rex. I fell in love with Rex and we ended up paying $125 to keep him.

In his earlier days Harry worked for many of the big ranches west of High River including the famous Bar U. He was an excellent horseman who was respected by and respected my Dad Lloyd Nelson.
About Farm Boy 1950
As kids we all grew up riding horses and any chance we got we spent time either in the saddle or bareback. Every year I would break one or two of ours or other folks horses. I was always riding a young horse.
